Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I come to Palm Beach Sports Medicine?

Palm Beach Sports Medicine is a physician-run practice, with four highly skilled orthopaedic surgeons, a physiatrist (doctor of physical medicine/rehabilitation), and a physical therapy staff all dedicated to restoring you to your highest level of function. We offer friendly, personalized care delivered with the highest degrees of compassion and professionalism.

What if mine isn’t a sports injury?

Sports medicine deals with the full range of musculoskeletal problems, so whether you’re a professional athlete, a “weekend warrior,” a recreational competitor, or a non-athlete with joint or muscle pain issues, the experts at Palm Beach Sports Medicine can help.

Won’t a practice run by surgeons always recommend surgery?

We all know the maxim, “When all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail,” but the surgeons at Palm Beach Sports Medicine are well versed in all the options available for helping find the source of your pain. That includes conservative approaches like prescribing hot or cold therapy, oral medications, and exercise and physical therapy. We also are excited about minimally invasive therapies like PRP (platelet-rich plasma) that can introduce growth factors to enhance healing without surgery.

If surgery is my best option, where will it be performed?

The surgeons at Palm Beach Sports Medicine are affiliated with three exceptional centers. We encourage you to visit their websites:
Jupiter Medical Center

Northpoint Surgery & Laser Center

Precision Bone and Joint
St. Mary’s Medical Center

How can I learn more?

Palm Beach Sports Medicine suggests visiting the following websites. We use them to assist patients with understanding orthopaedic problems and treatments. These are not our websites and are for educational purposes only. They should never be used to self-diagnose a problem or self-prescribe a treatment plan. Patients should follow-up with their physician and physical therapist for consultation, treatment and medical information regarding their specific problem.
