Dr Joel Cohen

JOEL COEHN, MD is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon.   He completed his undergraduate studies in chemistry at Emory University, Atlanta, GA, and earned his medical degree from the University of Miami, Coral Gables, FL. He served his internship in General Surgery at Emory University’s Grady Memorial Hospital, and completed his residency in the Department of Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, FL. He served as the department’s Chief Resident in 1982 and 1983.

Dr. Cohen completed a Preceptorship in Sports Medicine through the United States Military Academy at West Point, to which he attributes his continuing interest in sports medicine. “Working with the cadets and athletes eager to return to their fullest physical capacity was rewarding,” says Dr. Cohen. He continues to work with active sports participants, from teens to middle-aged and senior “weekend warriors.”

Observes Dr. Cohen, “Guiding patients back to the fullest function possible after an injury, whether to participate in competitive or recreational activities, is a great source of satisfaction for me, one that has a real impact on my patients’ lives.”  Dr. Cohen is affiliated with St. Mary’s Hospital, Jupiter Medical Center, Good Samaritan Medical Center, Northpoint Surgery & Laser Center, and Jupiter Outpatient Surgery Center.
